Yeah, it’s 2021 and the world is not yet back to business as usual. While things are not exactly going as planned and we have to cancel our Summer Program Legal Technology and Operations again in 2021, this time we know that this will not be the end of the story.
When we introduced Bucerius Legal Tech Essentials in 2020, we were overwhelmed by how many great lecturers and students (5000+) decided to join us. Not only was it the largest program Bucerius Law School ever created, it was also incredibly intense, fun and engaging.
It should come as no surprise that we are going for a version 2.0 in 2021. The program’s core remains the same: a free online educational experience with many of the lecturers that would normally be on our campus.
During the month of May, we are going to host inspirational presentations from some of the world's leading legal technology and operations experts on weekdays at noon U.S. Central Time (that's 7:00 p.m. CEST). We promise 60–90 minutes of insights and Q&A.
This is also the next iteration and we are building on the experience from 2020. That means the program is slightly shorter, we introduce a fair share of completely new lecturers and we will make recordings available for a limited time from the start.

You can sign up for individual lectures. They will be made available via Zoom Webinar.
This is not an academic program and there will be no degree. We learned last year that some of you were interested in a participation certificate but tracking attendance and the related individual communication requires extensive resources. We are exploring options on this and we will keep you posted on the final decision.
No. You can pick and choose. We will upload a schedule here, email you a weekly schedule update and you will get a reminder 1 hour before each lecture.
We will make as many recordings as possible available for a limited time during the program. It is up to the individual lecturer but we’ll do our best to convince them.
Of course, this is not the end to our on-campus program. Normal service will resume in 2022. In the meantime, check out this video and our official program website.
